Info:
This classic adidas trainer has been re-invented for Sping 2011 in a premium ultra lightweight canvas embroidered edition giving it a new edge for a new generation.

The adidas Originals Superstar shoe was first released in 1969 and was the first low-top leather basketball trainer to be made.

The shoe soon adopted the nicknames "shelltoe" or "shell shoes" because of its rubber shell toe piece. The adidas Supertar's iconic design has earnt the shoe a reputation of being one of the major influences in the trainer culture.

The styling and chunky fit of the adidas Superstar was soon adopted by icons of the hip-hop scene. The strong endorsement of the shoe by rap group Run-DMC helped the shoe reach its own individual iconic status.

The original colours of the adidas Superstar were navy, black, red and white, but the shoe has since been produced in a variety of different colourways and exclusive collaborated styles, such as A Bathing Ape Collaboration in 2003.

Over the years the adidas Superstar trainer has been updated regularly from the original French-manufactured versions - with the gold and black logo on the tongue - and now uses an array of elements such as metal eyelets, different types of leather and suede, and rubber that doesn't yellow with age.

The adidas Originals Superstar shoes popularity has continued to grow and develop into other scenes, such as the skateboarding community in the early and mid-1990s and continues to grow to this day.
